Institutional Background
About Adamawa State College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Ganye
Adamawa State College of Agriculture Science and Technology was established in 1992 following the creation of Adamawa State from the former Gongola State, with the primary aim of training low- and middle-level manpower in agriculture and related fields. The College was initially located in Mubi but was later relocated to Ganye due to its favourable climate, fertile land, and strong potential for agricultural production.
The College operates across two campuses: the main campus in Ganye and the Gyawana campus in Lamurde Local Government Area. From a modest beginning with four (4) departments, the institution has expanded significantly and now runs fourteen (14) departments, offering a wide range of academic programmes in agriculture, science, and technology. Over the years, the College has remained committed to providing practical, skill-based education, supported by experienced lecturers, functional laboratories, demonstration farms, and modern teaching facilities.
In addition to academic excellence, the College plays a vital role in community development through agricultural extension services, research, and innovation aimed at improving farming practices and food security. It continues to produce competent graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
